About Chris Tamm's Tours

Christopher Tamm's Street Art Tour is a one and a half hour guided tour of artwork in the Newtown, Enmore and St Peters area, home to some of Sydney’s best and most versatile street-art. It’s a unique opportunity to experience both street-artforms and the culture behind them, tailored for “outsiders" who are keen to learn what street-art is all about.

Christopher Tamm has been involved in both commercial and street-art since the 80s and has been a curator, teacher, speaker and muralist in street-art since. He first began conducting guided street-art tours for the pioneering ST5K street-art festival and the Adelaide City Council in 2001.

His work has been featured in the Sydney Morning Herald, Time Out, Ralph, local street press and a variety of other publications.

Chris says, ‘I put on these tours to educate those who might be curious or even critical of street-art, in the hopes of fostering more appreciation of the art form, and also to encourage policy-makers to support better public art and opportunities for artists’.

‘Street-art is a international form of youth culture. The indiscriminate
persecution of all its forms no matter how good or bad is an attack on youth culture and creativity. There is so much great work right here in Sydney that you don't have to go to New York or Melbourne to see it.’
